Trenton Man Reports City-Wide Garage Sale Proceeds Stolen
The following information was supplied by the Trenton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Trenton police responded to a report of money stolen out of a house in the 2100 block of Churchill Street at about 11:30 a.m. April 25.
A 56-year-old man told police a wallet containing $1,100 was missing out of the top middle drawer of his dresser.
The man said the wallet had the proceeds from a recent garage sale he had during the City-Wide Garage Sale.
He told police he last saw the wallet at about 4 p.m. April 23 and discovered it missing the following day.
Police said nothing else in the house appeared to have been disturbed or missing.
There were no signs of damage or forced entry, according to a Trenton police report.
The man told police a special $20 bill was among the stolen bills. He said the bill had been shellacked and lightly covered with glitter.

I have been watching too many crime dramas. No apparent break-in? The only thing missing a wallet with cash in a drawer? Did you leave the front door unlocked all day while you were gone? A neighbor knew you were gone and helped himself? Okay.....family member couldn't resist?
