Trenton, Grosse Ile Leaf Collection Guide 2012
Leaf collection begins Monday in Trenton and continues through December. Grosse Ile does not have specific leaf collection dates.
Fall leaves are most beautiful when they change color and swing in the wind. But, after they fall from the trees they quickly change from awe-inspiring forces of nature to colorful messes in the yard.
Trenton-Grosse Ile Patch knows you want to keep your yard clean and to help you do that, we've put together a leaf collection guide for Trenton and Grosse Ile.
Grosse Ile does not have specific leaf collection dates. Instead, residents are asked to bag their leaves and put them at the curb on their regularly scheduled waste pickup days. Yard waste removal ends the week of December 10-14.
Trenton residents have specific leaf collection dates in three different sections of the city. The sections are as follows:
- Section 1 is east of Fort Street to the Detroit River
- Section 2 is north of West Road and West of Fort Street
- Section 3 is south of West Road and West of Fort Street
Trenton residents should place leaves on the curb by Monday morning of the following collection weeks:
- Section 1: Oct. 22-26 and Nov. 12-16
- Section 2: Oct. 29 through Nov. 2 and Nov. 19-21
- Section 3: Nov. 5-9 and Nov. 26-30
Do not place leaves in plastic or paper bags. Leaves in plastic in paper bags cannot be collected. Leaves should be piled at the curb or in city-approved yard waste containers.
Trenton city officials ask that residents do not park on leaf piles because they cannot be removed and present a fire hazard. Wetting leaves with a garden hose can prevent blowing and reduce the risk of fire. Do not mix grass clippings in with leaves.
