Thieves Break In Through Ceiling at A 'Touch of Glass' Florist in Trenton

The following information was supplied by the Trenton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Trenton police responded to a call about a burglary at A "Touch of Glass" Florist at about 8:30 a.m. Oct. 11.

The store owner told police she was opening for the day when she saw a hole in the ceiling on the west side of the building. Police said it appeared the suspect(s) removed the roof vent fan and gained access to the building.

Inside the building there was a broken ceiling tile hanging from where the suspect(s) either fell or jumped down from the hole, according to a Trenton police report.

Police said there were pieces of ceiling tile on the ground but nothing was disturbed. The owner told police everything appeared to be in order and no items were missing. The cash register was locked in a safe and the safe had not been tampered with.

Police had responded to an alarm at the business about three hours prior to the owner's report. Officers located an opened door and cleared the building, according to the same report.
