Trenton police responded to a call about a retail fraud in progress at West Grange Pharmacy on Feb. 4 at about 2:45 p.m.

The store manager gave police the description of a white female wearing a grey, hooded sweatshirt. The woman suspected of shoplifting was still in the store when police arrived. The manager pointed the woman out to officers on the scene.

Police identified the 52-year-old woman and escorted her to a back room of the store to conduct an interview, according to a Trenton Police report.

The woman told police she had recently received her social security check and went to the store to pick up her prescriptions. She added she bought a few other items form the cashier.

The items were bagged and the woman returned to an aisle with over-the-counter medications, according to police.

Police said everything in the woman’s bag was paid for.

Police then asked the woman not to return to the store or she would be charged with trespassing.

The manager told police she believes the woman had stolen items in the past and has returned items for refunds without a receipt according to the same report.

Police said the manager does not want the woman back in the store.

No charges were filed.
