Cheeks Bar In Process of Covering Up Mural
A controversial mural at Cheeks Bar & Grill in Trenton no longer depicts women in a suggestive nature.
Trenton residents demanded action and they got it.
The manager responsible for a mural depicting two seemingly-nude women bending over has started the process of painting over the images.
Riley O'Neil Miles, manager, and his brother have begun repainting the outside of Cheeks Sports Bar & Grill with a new and less risque design.
Though faded images of the women can still be seen through the paint used to cover them up, Miles said the images would be completely covered up when the process is complete.
Miles said weather conditions play a large role in the speed at which the mural is completed.
The mural became a hot issue in Trenton after people living in the neighborhood near Cheeks began complaining to local media and city administrators.
Soon Facebook exploded in comments pertaining to the mural.
The controversy ended when the manager told city administrators and Trenton Patch he would paint over the mural.

I am pleased to see that the mural has been covered up and I am thankful the owner worked with the City to keep a great image in our community!

It's getting there. It's nice to see that a peaceful protest actually worked, and I'm honestly impressed at the speed of the owners reaction. (though i still do not know what he was thinking in the first place!) nonetheless, thanks for fixing it. I live in that neighborhood, and we are ALL happy about it. :-)

Anyone else have any thoughts about the new direction for the mural outside Cheeks Sports Bar & Grill?

Prayers are answered. Grateful and happy to see that the owner of Cheeks was so cooperative and wanting to do the right thing. Thank you. I live in this neighborhood as well.
