Police Find Body Believed to be Missing Trenton Teen

Although efforts to positively identify the body were unsuccessful at this time, police believe it to be Nathan Alan Tracy of Trenton.

A body found at about 10:40 a.m. Saturday, Sept., 8 in Pittsfield Township is believed to be that of a Trenton teen who was reported missing after a hit and run crash, according to police.

Police said a maintenance worker from a nearby condominium complex, Weatherstone Condos, found the deceased body of a male believed to be 19-year-old Nathan Alan Tracy.

The body was found in a retention pond located near the entrance of the Weatherstone complex, according to a release from the Pittsfield Township Department of Public Safety.

Pittsfield police were called and responded to recover the body and investigate the scene.

Efforts to positively identify the body were unsuccessful; however, police said it is believed to be Tracy, who was reportedly involved in a hit and run crash at the above location at about 11:30 p.m. Sept. 5.

Family members who had not heard from Tracy since prior to the crash  reported him missing.

Police said an autopsy of the body is scheduled to take place within the next day. Methods to positively identify the deceased are ongoing.

The cause of death was unavailable Saturday afternoon.
