Police Blotter: Trenton Woman Receives 'Sexual' Calls from Craigslist Ad
The following information was supplied by the Trenton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
A 29-year-old Trenton woman reported to police on June 6 she had received about 50 text messages, 20 phone calls and 10 pictures on her cellphone as a result of a Craigslist ad created with her information.
The communications were all "sexual in nature" according to police.
The calls, messages and photos came over a period of about two days .
According to police the woman said she asked one of the callers where he got her phone number and he told her that her name and cellphone number were in a Craigslist ad “suggesting that she was interested in a good time.”
The woman said she did not place the ad and planned to contact Craigslist to see if she could find any information on who set up the ad and to have the ad removed.
She told police she would like to prosecute the person(s) who placed the ad, if they are ever found, and expressed her concern for herself and her 7-year-old child who live alone.
