Should Michigan's governor sign a bill on is desk that would allow concealed weapons in former no-gun zones, like schools?
Trenton-Grosse Ile Patch readers discussed this topic on Facebook. The question started a debate that had over 30 comments Friday night.
The question is timely for two reasons:
- Under legislation that passed the House and Senate in Michigan this week, gun owners with concealed weapon permits could carry a gun into schools, daycares, hospitals or public arenas if they get extra training. The bill is awaiting Gov. Rick Snyder's signature, according to MLive.
- And on Friday, a gunman opened fire in a school in Newton, CT, killing at least 27 died in a shooting an an elementary school, including 18 children.
What do you think of the legislation? Should the governor sign it? Answer our poll and tell us in comments.

Be careful what you say on Patch, they don't believe in the 1st Amendment. If they don't like what you say they will just censor it or block your post. Just like they did mine, because I was too truthful for them. I GUESS. So I posted it elsewhere for all to see the truth, not some censored or tarnished edition, as dictated by Patch's Politics.

Hey Nate, If you are gonna act like you care about this story, you could at least spell the name of the town right. It's NEWTOWN, CT. not Newton.

I really feel for the loss of the parents and families but don't think that strict gun control will solve this with the right training and responsibilities people should be able to protect them selves and their families my heart goes out to all of the people involved in these acts of crime but criminals will always find a way to get guns I can go on for hours but I won't god bless all the victims
