J.J. Putz to be Honored Guest at Fundraiser for Trenton Public Schools
The annual Signature Event raises money for the Trenton Educational Foundation which donates thousands of dollars to Trenton Public Schools each year.
The current Arizona Diamondback will have his high school jersey retired among family and friends at the event beginning at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at Fratello's Restaurant.
“We are excited and proud to have the opportunity to feature one of our own for his significant athletic achievements,” TEF co-chair Tom Dickman said in a release.
Mike McCullough, TEF co-chair, said he expects tickets to the event to sell out quickly.
“J.J. is a product of the Trenton High School system and deserves to be recognized,” McCullough said in the same release.
Putz is a right-handed pitcher who was drafted by the Seattle mariners in 1999 and has played for several Major League Baseball teams throughout his career, according to Baseball-Reference.com. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1995.
Tickets to the event are $50 and can be picked up at the Board of Education office, M&M Printing Inc. and Trenton City Hall, or by contacting Mike McCullough at 734-671-0100 or email@example.com .
The TEF was founded three years ago by a group of residents who wanted to help raise money to fund special projects and programs not covered by traditional school funding, according to the release.
Those interested in sponsoring the event are encouraged to call Sponsor Chair Paul Frost at 734-692-6400 for sponsorship information and packages.
