I think it is awesome! And I think it is sad it would bring negativity out of people. Maybe he just wants a welcoming, family-oriented place that young people can hang out and feel safe. I think it is a brilliant idea. I love the fact the money I spend will go to a church rather than some big corporation like Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts!! Wonderful!

Let's say normal business hours it is a coffee shop without pushing an agenda and off times a church. You see a lot of churches who cater to a younger crowd doing things like this. Metro South did. I don't see any harm. If you don't want to go, don't go. It is better than a vacant building. It is something good for the community. My guess is that they would probably be actively involved in the community trying to make it a better place. I don’t know what so many people have against church and religion. I think as a whole it brings a positive aspect to communities even if you don’t practice.

Many long established churches have families and older people who are able to contribute more of their wealth. Places that attract younger people are probably not as financially well off. The young have not had a chance to establish themselves financially. So my guess is they need the coffee shop as a means to survive. I don’t think they are trying to be greedy and profit. They just don’t want to tax their members. I’m sure there will be other free things they offer to the community. Many religious organizations contribute volunteers and also open their doors to those not so well off. I find that those that cater to a younger crowd are less judgmental and more about promoting good. I welcome them.
