I haven't seen the DSO in a few years, but the last time we saw them they featured some Russian composers. They gave a lot of history of the piece before they played. It really helped give some context to the piece and helped you listen to it differently. Great concert!

My favorite performance was when the DSO performed at Meadowbook with Audra McDonald. It was the first time my husband had ever heard them play. He took me again a few years later when Itzhak Perlman was guest conducting. It was amazing!

My favorite concert was Spice Girls reunion tour, embarrassingly enough. My sisters (there are five of us) and I loved dancing and singing to their music as kids and when they came to Detroit it was one of the most fun nights we have had. Though I will say my taste in music as broadened since I have grown up ;)

My favorite concert was the DSO at Meadowbrook playing the 1812 Overture and Romeo & Juliet about 10 years ago. I took my 18 year old nephew and we sat on the grass on a warm summer night. It was great!
